Head in the Clouds (Hot oil scalp massage treatment): £30
A deep scalp massage using a blend of coconut oil, lavender, ylang-ylang, & lemongrass essential oils. Exfoliates & freshens the scalp. Stimulates hair growth & relieves stress for the whole body. Please bring head scarf or hat as you will leave with oil on the hair!
Padabhyanga: £30
This highly relaxing Ayurvedic foot massage revitalises tired feet & legs, but as the feet contain key energy & nerve points relating to the whole body, it also harmonises & relaxes the entire body. The massage improves blood circulation, helps prevent varicose veins & also reduces swelling & soreness in the lower leg region.
Tui-Na:
Tuina is a medical massage using arms, hands, fingers, elbows & knees as tools for treating disease & illness. It protects health & builds up immunity, so that disease can be stopped in its beginning acting as a preventative medical measure, without any side effects!
Performed through light clothing the techniques & manipulations focus on specific pain sites, stimulating acupuncture points & other parts of the body to remove blockages along the meridians & stimulate the flow of qi & blood to promote healing, similar to principles of acupuncture, moxibustion & acupressure,- resulting in a relaxing powerfully energizing massage! Tuina rectifies anatomical anomalies, alters the inner energy state of the biological system & adjusts the bio-information of the body. For soft tissue injuries, Tuina relaxes muscles & tendons & promotes smooth passage of the channels. It also promotes blood circulation & removes blood stasis. Sessions last from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Depending on the specific problems of the client, they may return for additional treatments.
Cupping Therapy:
Cupping is an ancient tool used in Traditional Chinese Medicine that involves placing heated glass cups on the body. As the air inside the cup cools it creates a suction on the skin holding the glass in place. The negative pressure created within the cup changes the pressure on tissue structures such as nerves, capillaries and muscle fascia. The cups can be moved along the skin giving the effect of a massage but with an altogether different sensation! Cupping helps to treat many disorders by increasing blood flow to the affected areas as well as promoting Qi circulation. It alleviates pain, decreases swelling, increases range of motion and speeds up healing processes. It often leaves a slight bruise-like colouring on the skin that should fade in few days after treatment and is not painful. Cupping can be done as a standalone treatment or as an add-on within a massage.
